What are Ceramic Coatings?

An industry-grade ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution placed on a car's exterior to protect it against external paint damage. It is often applied by hand and combines with your vehicle's paint, adding a hydrophobic layer of protection.

The car's factory paint job is unaffected by this chemical bonding and the formation of a new layer.

We at OCDetails strive to provide you with the best car polishing service to your car and make it shine like crystals.

Ceramic coating, also sometimes called nano-ceramic coating, is a permanent or semi-permanent solution to your worries depending upon the coating and type of polymer used. Due to its chemically intrinsic properties, it does not break down in normal atmospheric conditions like rain or summer.

Ceramic Coatings FAQs:

Can I wash my car after the coating is installed?

Once the coating is applied, the vehicle should not get wet for the first 48 hours so it can fully cure. After that, we advise our customers to not wash their vehicle for the first two weeks. The first wash after we apply the ceramic coating is free to you so we can check how the coating is holding up.

Can the ceramic coating replace my clear coat?

If your paint is chipping and fading due to clear coat failure, the only option to fix that is a repaint. A ceramic coating will not be able to help.

Can I get the coating installed without the prep work or paint correction?

We do not apply coatings to vehicles that have not gone through the proper prep and correction as you will not reap the benefits of a coating without it.
